Thankful for a great Goen for Good!
The Church left the building again last Sunday! We had a terrific event helping the Alliance Against Family Violence get set up for a new day care center to serve the needs of the women at the shelter. We removed a wood floor, cleared, cleaned and painted walls, organized and cleaned supplies and furniture and cleaned and repaired light fixtures, to name a few of our tasks. Irene and her staff were so grateful for the huge boost forward we gave them. It’s always amazing to watch a crew transform a building in only a few hours. We also encouraged Northeast Christian Church by partnering with them and making their building usable for such a worthy cause.
I have heard from many other church leaders and members across the country who are so impressed by these events. They would like to do them themselves. Believe it or not, the common remark I hear is “How can you do that on a Sunday and miss an offering?!” They, like us, depend on weekly offerings to pay bills, payroll and utilities. Like most households, missing one “paycheck” is unthinkable. I am so thankful for your faithfulness to send in your offerings on these weeks, and also for the faith of our leadership to plan these events knowing money will be tight that week.
I hope you enjoy a great Thanksgiving celebration this week and join us for the beginning of our Advent series this Sunday, Love Well. Give Wells.
On the Journey,
Jan
